Exciting News!
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. — Hebrews 13:3 Hello friends,
Dorothy and I want to share some exciting news with you in regard to a ministry opportunity we have accepted to the Persecuted Church. In addition to my new pastoral responsibilities with Koinonia Church in Albuquerque, we have been asked to represent Voice of the Martyrs in New Mexico. What a privilege that is!
ABOUT VOICE OF THE MARTYRS
The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is a nonprofit, interdenominational missions organization that offers practical and spiritual help to persecuted Christians around the world. VOM was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned 14 years in Communist Romania for his faith in Christ. Through their travels, the Wurmbrands spread the message of the atrocities that Christians face in restricted nations, while establishing a network of offices dedicated to assisting the persecuted church. The Voice of the Martyrs continues in this mission around the world today. VOM MISSION STATEMENT
Serving persecuted Christians through practical and spiritual assistance and leading other members of the body of Christ into fellowship with them. WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN US? God may be speaking to some of you to join us in this ministry to the Persecuted Church. This may be just what you have been looking for. If so, here's what you can do. Be In Prayer Everything good begins with prayer to our God who hears us (Psalm 116:1-2). We encourage you to visit the 8thirty8 Facebook page for current prayer requests from our brethren all over the world, especially in the Middle East, and join with thousands who are praying every evening at 8:38 p.m. for them. This site was instrumental in leading Dorothy and me into this ministry. Be Informed While you and I may not be suffering persecution right now, we can still be "companions" to those who are. When asked how we should prepare ourselves for persecution, Jim Dau, President of VOM, gives this answer: "Read about the Persecuted Church and what they are giving up and going through around the world. They are our brothers and sisters and they need our help, encouragement and prayers." The following sites will quickly bring you up to speed with incredible stories of faith and courage: Voice of the Martyrs
Be Available Volunteers are always needed and are welcome. Each of the above websites offer many opportunities to serve, even offering short-term mission trips. In addition, if you live in New Mexico, we would love to have you join with us directly as we reach out in behalf of VOM to churches and the body of Christ throughout the state. You can help us by talking to your pastor about inviting us to speak at your church, joining our Prayer Group for the Persecuted Church and/or serving with us at various events. Please contact us by return email for more information. We would love to hear from you. God bless. Maranatha!
